Technology MD Forges Partnership with Allscripts to Provide EMR Solution
January 2009 -- Technology MD announced a strategic partnership with Allscripts to offer a flexible electronic medical record (EMR) solution for small- and mid-sized physician practices. The solution includes practice management and claims management capabilities, as well.
"This EMR solution was designed to make charting and other common physician tasks faster and easier. It can be tailored by a physician according to his or her preferences," said Jack Ryan, Vice President of Technology MD.
Through its tier-II data center, Technology MD can securely host the EMR solution for physician practices, saving the costs and hassles of ownership, Ryan said. "This arrangement includes disaster recovery, with the solution replicated to another data center in case of emergency," Ryan explained. "This data redundancy assures physician access to needed information and prevents workflow disruption," Ryan said.
Technology MD also supports the solution with local, specially trained staff providing telephone and, if necessary, onsite support. "Once a hosted application is implemented, your practice's worries go away – the application is up and running and available. If any problems occur on the application, Technology MD deals with it rather than you."

Technology MD/eRAD Partnership Provides PACS Options for Physician Practices
December 2008 – Technology MD announced a strategic partnership with eRAD, a medical imaging company, to provide options for picture archiving communication systems (PACS) for radiology practices. PACS store digital radiological images, providing retrieval efficiencies and saving film and courier costs.
Through the Web-based eRAD PACS hosted by Technology MD in its leading-edge data center, radiologists can "pay by the view" and interpret images via the Internet while avoiding the capital investment required for the practice to own its own PACS.
"This Web-based service saves time for everyone involved, enabling the radiologist to report back to the referring physician within hours rather than days," said Jack Ryan, Vice President of Technology MD. He added that a radiologist and referring physician working in different locations can simultaneously view the images and discuss them over the telephone.
eRAD also allows radiologists to view images provided by different types of PACS systems. Technology MD can help a practice to assess workflow and determine the best PACS implementation for its needs, Ryan said.
