Our revenue cycle management team at Healthcare Information Services L.L.C. is built around a highly experienced staff of billing and collection personnel. This team is supported by management professionals committed to providing the necessary support, training and tools, ensuring maximum revenue for our clients.

To support and maximize our staff's effort, we partner with vendors that are leaders in the industry. Our HIPPA (Health Insurance and Accountability Act) compliant practice management systems provide us with new products and enhancements on a regular basis, enabling us to work more efficiently so we can concentrate on serving our clients and their patients.

Our Revenue Cycle Management includes:

Coding and Appeals

  • HIS employs over 30 certified coders, in all facets of our operations. The coding department Director has over 20 years of experience in physician practice administration and is a certified PMCC instructor and national speaker on coding and reimbursement issues.
  • The coding staff review encounter forms and operative reports to ensure coding is accurate and compliant.
  • Our coders and Coding Consultant act as key resources for physicians and their staff, keeping them up to date with changes in coding and government regulations.
  • CONTRACT PAYMENT ANALYSIS: HIS has customized a thorough appeals process to ensure any underpaid claims are appealed and maximum reimbursement is recovered.

Billing and Claims Services

  • Staff collaborates with clients to develop most efficient process for receipt of accurate billing to our office. HIS coders review billing received in our office, providing feedback to physicians regarding recommended changes.
  • Using HIPAA-compliant transmissions, HIS applies payer-specific edits to claims so "clean" claims are sent in a timely manner.
  • Ability to receive electronic patient demographic and charge downloads from hospitals avoiding manual patient registration and speeding up the charge entry process.

Cash or Payment Application

  • Staff follows protocols that ensure a though system of cash management, including comprehensive daily balancing of deposits and cash balancing for clients.
  • Electronic Remittance Advice (ERA) and Electronic Fund Transfer (EFT) are used to post insurance payments electronically to patient accounts and deposit funds directly into client bank accounts. These procedures result in more efficient and timely turnaround of our clients' receivables, reduced error rate and cost savings due to minimal manual entry.

Collection Services

  • Healthcare Information Services L.L.C. collectors have extensive years of experience, creating a dedicated team that is well-educated on all state and federal collection industry regulations.
  • Using comprehensive, payer-specific policies and procedures and computerized work flows, our collection staff is able to maintain high quality and productivity.

Customer Service

  • Customer service to clients and their patient is our highest priority. HIS invests extensive resources in training and technology so all calls are answered promptly and completely.
  • Our staff is educated on the unique needs of each practice, allowing patients to experience your practice and HIS as a truly integrated team.

Client Services

  • Healthcare Information Services, L.L.C. has developed a distinctive client service department to facilitate continuous and open communication between HIS and each of its clients.
  • Each client has an assigned representative(s) so that a true partnership can develop and the HIS representative can become familiar with the policies, struggles and unique circumstances of each and every client.
  • HIS provides both standard and customized reporting within our client services department. These reports help HIS and the practice to identify trends and issues to correct any potential problems before a larger problem arises.
  • Incorporated in our client services department is an auditing department. This department routinely reviews staff accuracy and adherence to client-specific policies.
